The Definition of a “Diet”
December 15, 2008
What is a ‘diet’ anyway? When I think of the word diet some definitive words and phrases immediately pop into my head, none of which are inviting mind you. Words like – ‘limiting’, ‘deprivation’, ’starvation’, ‘bland’, ‘lack of variety’, ‘unrealistic’, ‘impossible to eat out’, ‘calorie counting’, ‘hungry’, ‘craving’, ‘frustrated’, ‘cranky’, ‘tired’,…
Look at these words again – do they equate to “good health” to you? Is that what it takes to be healthy? Of course not!
So then why is this always the first answer or approach to achieving health – to do something entirely unhealthy for the body? Why do the majority feel this is the only path available to better their health? Why do some practitioners simply tell you to starve the body, cut calories back to lose weight & get healthy?

I’d like to invite you to believe in possibilities - the possibility of eating healthy AND enjoying it.
- How about a solution as simple as learning how & when to feed the body so we can not only achieve, but also maintain good health long-term?
- How about enjoying endless food variety & tastes that don’t feel limiting at all?
- How about never feeling hungry, tired or cranky – but in fact being at our best mood & energy levels ever in life regardless of age?
Not possible, you say? (Insert buzzer noise)
Learning how to feed your body properly for optimum health & metabolism, as well as use of health cooking techniques for taste & flavor are in fact the one & only way to achieve true good health externally AND internally for life. And it’s easily done with the right mentor to support & teach you how to develop such personal health leadership techniques through healthy nutrition & exercise program design.
When you have a health mentor guiding you on this approach:
- you are never hungry or experience cravings
- you eat plentifully and often
- you are at your best energy levels & health ever
- your mood is positive & controlled
- your body has all the nutrients it needs to fuel itself for optimum health
- you’re supporting your internal health in the best manner possible while reaching your external health physique goals

So what sounds better to you now … ‘dieting’ or ‘eating for health’?
